UK’s Queens University Likely to Accept More Indian Entrance Exams

UK's Queens Univerity recently announced the incorporation of the JEE Scores (Joint Entrance Exam) into its admission criteria for the engineering program. The university will explore more such entrance exams conducted in India for admission to other courses.

Ian Greer, Vice-Chancellor informed that UK universities traditionally depend on the A-level entrance exam, but now they realize that there are distinct educational systems and it is not important for all of them to be similar. However, there can be a certain quality threshold. The key factor for the university it to identify the right people and help them achieve their career goals.

Last month, Queens University announced that the JEE results will be incorporated into its eligibility criteria for admission to various science and technology programs. According to the varsity officials, there are not many universities in the UK which are accepting JEE scores and it is a good discriminator. The university explores more Indian entrance exams in the future. They are of the view that Indian education system is well structured and education quality is also good which will help them attract quality.

Presently the varsity has more than 200 Indian students registered in different programs. To attract more Indian students the academy has now introduced a five-year commitment plan. The five-year plan includes partnerships with various Indian organizations and various outreach programs.
