Respite for Magadh University disaffiliated colleges

The Magadh University (MU) has provided respite to all the colleges that were disaffiliated due to several reasons and were barred from holding the classes for the session 2016-17. Most of the colleges have been under the scanner due to the inadequate infrastructure. The colleges with inadequate faculty members, poor infrastructure and with the lack of qualified faculty staff were also hit by the resolution of disaffiliation in the recent meetings held at the university.

In a meeting of the university syndicate held on Saturday i.e. 2nd April 2016, it has been decided that a period of 30 days would be provided to fulfil the prescribed conditions & submit the report to a committee 4 members, specially constituted for the same purpose.

It was also concluded that the national eligibility test (NET) qualified candidates would not have to appear for the pre-PhD - test for carrying out the research.

The syndicate approved a total deficit budget of almost Rs 745 crore for the year 2016-17 & the agenda for the meeting of the senate was scheduled for 10th April 2016. In the budget prepared for the financial year 2016-17, the Magadh University has also earmarked around Rs 864 crore as an expected expenditure & around Rs. 119 crores as an expected income.

Magadh Univesity VC Mr. Md. Ishtiyaq presided over the meetings of the syndicate that was also attended by pro-VC Mr. Kriteshwar Prasad, the registrar of the university, Mr. Sitaram Singh and the examination controller Mr. Israil Khan apart from the other officials.
