RSS to Organize High Profile Event to Influence India’s Education Policy

Rashtriya Swamyam Sevak Sangh (RSS) is going to organize a seminar in association with Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (BSM) on 12-July-2016 to discuss the changes and proposals that need to bring in the education system. Minister of HRD, Mr. Prakash Javadekar will be one of the speakers at the seminar. This will be the Javadekar’s first interaction after taking charge as HRD Minister. RSS is planning to pressurize the government to implement compulsory daily prayers in the schools and colleges.
The event will be attended by BJP national general Secretary, Mr. Muralidhar Rao. The seminar also focuses on the draft education policy prepared by TSR Subramanian committee. This draft ran into controversy last month. The committee suggested eradicating campus politics.
The BSM suggested many issues to include in the draft. but they were not included. The BSM suggested many issues through which changes in the education system is possible. BSM opined that the government must provide funds to NGO’s that teach up to 8th standard. It also opined that the minority communities instead of admitting minority students giving more importance for the majority communities. According to RTE, 25% of seats are reserved for the poor communities in the minority institutions.
The discussions will be held at the constitutional club which will also be attended by the former NCERT director, JS Rajput.
