Students of Delhi Must be Given Special Priority in DU Admissions: Manish Sisodia
The students of Delhi can be also preferred for the admissions into colleges which are being funded by Delhi government.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia asserted that a separate entrance must be conducted for admissions to Delhi University. In a letter written by him to the HRD Ministry, he clearly stated that the number of students passing Class XII is increasing every year and the seats of the Delhi University has not increased. There has been a heavy competition for the DU admissions and the students from other states are trying to get admission in DU.

He stated that the students of the Delhi who passed Class XII and applying for DU admissions must have special quota and cut-offs. The local students must be given first priority and later priority must be given to the students of other states. The students of Delhi can be also preferred for the admissions into colleges which are being funded by Delhi government.
He also asserted that the Delhi government is funding 28 Delhi University Colleges and that is why the first priority or special quota must be given to the students of Delhi. The Delhi government is granting a sum of Rs. 300 crore for 28 Delhi University colleges.
