The electrical engineering students of Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology participated in Sphinx 16' recently under the guidance of dean, (planning and development) Dr Harikumar Naidu and principal of TGPCET Dr G K Awari.
Deputy general manager of Indorama Butibori plant Prashant Singru was invited as chief guest and he judged the novel projects of all the students and the selected best three projects. These best three projects were then awarded cash prizes along with certificates.


The first winner of the project had a concept based on 'mobile hospital and healthcare system useful for rural areas without electricity with use of solar energy' by Rohit Tapase, Prashant Bhakare and Pawan Sawarkar.
The first runners-up had a concept based on 'design of a vehicle for a handicapped person' by Sameer Chaudhari, Hitesh Bakal and Amit Mahetkar. This will be useful for differently abled people.

The second runners-up had a concept based on 'charging of electrical vehicle by using solar and auxiliary sources' by Ankush Jadhav, Anup Shendre and Pranay Sonule.
The project competition was held due to efforts of Prof V Sable, Prof P Ghutke, Prof P Jambhulkar, Prof R Jethani, Prof Y Rothekar, Prof S Gajbhiye, Prof R Butley, Prof N Makade, Prof S Gadewar, Prof T Jabeen, Anand Vilas and staff members of Department of Electrical Engineering.


The project competition was the outcome of constant encouragement by chairman Dr Mohan Gaikwad, treasurer, Sandeep Gaikwad, president Dr Anjali Gaikwad and director (research), Dr D P Kothari.
