The physical education department ofUsha Rama College of Engineering and Technologycelebrated annual sports meet on 19-March-2016. Various sports competitions were conducted for the students and the prize distribution ceremony was held on 19-March-2016. The chief guest for the annual sports meet was Col.Venkata Ratnam, chief battalion officer, Vijayawada.

Addressing the students, he said “students have to take part in sports to improve physical fitness". He encouraged students to take part in sports competitions on par with academics. He opined that both academics and sports play an important role in the personality development.

Athletic competitions like long jump, high jump, triple jump, javelin throw were conducted for the students. Around 800 students of the college took part in various sports competitions.

Prizes were distributed by the chief guest. Around 450 students won prizes in various competitions.
