International Yoga Day was celebrated in a grand manner at various colleges of Guntur district. Almost all the colleges marked the day and educated the society on the importance of yoga. Vignan University organized yoga day and the college management along with students performed various poses of yoga. Chairman of Vignan Institutions, Mr. Lavu Rattiah enlightened the students about the importance of yoga and advised the students to do yoga every day to lead a healthy life.
The Department of Yoga of Acharya Nagarjuna University marked the day by performing various poses of yoga. Vice Chancellor of the University, Acharya Rajendra Prasad explained the students about the importance of meditation and yoga.
Chalapathi Pharmacy College organized essay writing competition on account of International Yoga Day. Around 140 students actively participated in the competition. Prizes were distributed top the winners by the principal of the college. The competition was conducted on the theme, ‘Importance of Yoga in daily life’. Students expressed various views.
Students of NRI Medical College also marked the day by performing yoga at the college premises and educated the society on the importance of yoga.
Students of Kallam Engineering College, Tirumala Engineering College, VVIT, Eswar Engineering College and others marked the day by performing yoga.
