How to Check JNU PG Cutoff 2026?
JNU publishes cutoff data as open PDF files at jnuee.jnu.ac.in/JNUCutoff2026.html. Any candidate can download and check them without a login.
Step 1: Visit jnuee.jnu.ac.in/JNUCutoff2026.html.
Step 2: Under the relevant list number (List 1, List 2 etc.), click the PDF link for the programme category: Two Year MA/MSc/MCA, MTech/MPH/PGD, ADOP, or One-Year MA/MSc/MCA.
Step 3: Download the PDF. It shows all programme codes with cutoff marks and ranks for UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD, and FN categories.
Step 4: Find the four-letter programme code for the target course. All codes end in M (ECOM = MA Economics, SOCM = MA Sociology, IRAM = MA International Relations). Codes are listed in the JNU PG Prospectus 2026-27 at jnuee.jnu.ac.in.
Step 5: Compare the cutoff marks for the relevant category with the candidate's own JNU merit score. JNU merit score = CUET PG 2026 marks + applicable Deprivation Points.
A candidate whose merit score meets or exceeds the cutoff marks for their category may be selected in that list or a subsequent one. Being below the List 2 cutoff does not close all chances; check Subsequent Lists when they are released.
JNU PG 2026 First Merit List: What to Do If Selected
Candidates whose names appear in JNU PG 2026 List 2 must act within three days. JNU does not grant extensions. Missing the window forfeits the List 2 seat.
Step 1: Log in to jnuee.jnu.ac.in using the registration credentials created during the application.
Step 2: Check the merit list result on the dashboard. Confirm the programme and college allotted.
Step 3: Complete pre-enrolment online. Confirm the programme preference within the three-day window.
Step 4: Pay the seat-blocking fee online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. Keep the payment receipt.
Step 5: Report physically to the JNU campus in New Delhi for document verification between July 6 and 14, 2026. No proxy or postal submission is accepted.
Step 6: Carry all original documents to the JNU campus, like Class 10 and 12 marksheets, graduation certificate and marksheet, CUET PG 2026 scorecard, category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD), district certificate for deprivation points, and two passport-size photographs.

How Are JNU CUET PG Cutoff 2026 Marks Calculated?
JNU ranks candidates using merit marks, not raw CUET PG scores out of 300. For all CUET PG-based MA, MSc, MCA, MPH, and PGD programmes, JNU adds Deprivation Points to the candidate's CUET PG score to compute the final merit rank. This is why the cutoff marks in the official PDFs are in the 25 to 100 range and not the 0 to 300 CUET PG range.

If the score is within 3 to 5 marks of the List 2 cutoff, the chances of selection in List 3 are strong. Candidates significantly below the cutoff should consider alternative universities alongside waiting for subsequent JNU lists.
Wait for List 3: Date Not Yet Announced
JNU releases each subsequent list roughly two to three weeks after the previous list's admission window closes. List 1 was released on June 25; List 2 was released on July 15, a gap of about three weeks. On that pattern, List 3 could follow in early August 2026, though JNU has not confirmed an exact date. Do Not Withdraw or Cancel the Application
