Pittsburg State University, United States is offering financial incentives to students who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The funding of incentives has been raised by The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF).The incentive is applicable to domestic as well as international students who are enrolled in full-time on-campus classes at undergraduate or graduate level.Online-only students are not eligible for this scholarship, as the motive behind the launch of this scholarship is to protect students and staff on-campus.
As per the scheme, students who provide full vaccination proof by September 17, 202 will receive an incentive amount of $500 as a scholarship. The student will also be eligible to receive one of the two $8,500 grand prize that covers tuition fee, meals, and housing.

Two shots of Pfizer or Moderna or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson Janssen vaccine is acceptable.
Students who need to take two doses of vaccine of either Pfizer or Moderna must note that they will have to wait for four weeks and three weeks respectively before taking the second dose. Thus, to meet the deadline of September 17, 2021, they must take the first dose latest by Aug. 20th August for Moderna and August 27 for Pfizer.

The scholarship and grand prize amount shall be included in the Spring 2022 semester. Students who will graduate in December will either get their amount in the Fall 2021 semester or a refund amount shall be issued.
Howard Smith, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs- Pittsburg State University said the university is making all efforts to keep the campus safe. He further said that in order to begin the Fall term 2021 with the least disruption and help students not to miss any classes, it is important that people get fully vaccinated on time.
