Innovative strategies for antenatal diagnosis of fetal abnormalities and their treatment even before the birth of a child was highlighted at two day workshop CME programme "Gynaecon 2015" at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune
Over 40 experts including leading medical practioners from institutes like AIIMS participated in the CME programme which has been organised by the AFMC's department of obstetrics and gynaecology.
The workshop on 'Fetal Medicine' started the proceedings and has been organised in assocation with the Federation of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Societies of India (Fetal Medicine and Genetics Committee). The second day proceedings focused on the common emergencies encountered in obstetrics and gynaecology practice.
Lieutenant general AK Nagpal, Director and Commandant, AFMC, said, "The theme of the conference is a contemporary one and will benefit the delegates in updating their concepts and refining their skills. The CME has gone a long way in enhancing the quality of care of expectant mothers and their newborns."
