Physics

Moderate (NCERT Based)

Moderate: High weightage on Mechanics & Heat."Unlike JEE, BITSAT Physics today felt more like a test of speed and basics. There were several direct questions from Electromagnetism and Modern Physics. If you know your formulas and units, you can score well here. English was a breeze!" —Ananya Iyer, Hyderabad

Chemistry

Easy to Moderate

Easy to Moderate"Today’s Shift 1 felt slightly tougher than what my friends described from yesterday. The LR section had some tricky series-completion questions, but Chemistry saved my day. Hoping the normalized score stays in my favor!"
Rohan Deshmukh, Pune

Mathematics

Difficult & Lengthy

Difficult:Calculus-heavy; very time-consuming."I felt confident in Chemistry and finished it in 25 minutes, but Mathematics took over 80 minutes. The questions weren't impossible, but the calculations in Coordinate Geometry were just too long. I had to skip the bonus questions to ensure accuracy in what I had already marked." — Aryan Sharma, New Delhi

Pilani Campus: Chemical and Civil Engineering Trends

While CS and EEE grab the headlines, the core branches at Pilani remain solid choices. Based on the Excel data, B.E. Chemical saw cutoffs of 224 (2023) and 247 (2024) before settling at 210 in 2025. For 2026, the Expected Marks Range is 214–224. This is a great target for those with a strong command over Organic Chemistry.

Electrical And Electronics: Across All Three Campuses

The B.E. Electrical & Electronics (EEE) cutoffs are showing a very consistent trend.

    • Pilani: 262–272
    • Goa: 245–255
    • Hyderabad: 241–251

This "middle-tier" branch is perfect for students who want a tech-aligned career but want to avoid the hyper-competition of Computer Science.

Bonus Questions: The High-Risk, High-Reward Strategy

A reminder for Shift 2 aspirants: You can only access the 12 bonus questions if you have answered all 130 regular questions. Our experts suggest only attempting this if you have at least 20 minutes remaining. Random guessing to "unlock" bonus questions often leads to negative marking that tanks your rank.

Physics Difficulty Level: Moderate But Conceptual

Physics today has been rated as "Moderate." Unlike JEE Main, which can be formula-heavy, BITSAT today focused on conceptual clarity in Electromagnetism and Thermodynamics. If your fundamentals from the last three years of papers are clear, you can easily score 60+ in this section.

Shift 1 Concludes: Initial Student Reactions

As the first batch of students exits the centers, the consensus is that Mathematics was the most challenging section. While not impossible, the calculations in Coordinate Geometry and Calculus were reported as "lengthy." Ensure you do not get stuck on a single 3-mark question for more than 2 minutes.

Goa Campus: Electronics And Communication Projections

The B.E. Electronics & Communication (E&C) program at the K K Birla Goa Campus is a top choice for those just missing the CS cutoff. Following the 2025 score of 255, the Expected 2026 Range is 257–267. With Goa's rising popularity, this branch often sees one of the highest jumps in Session 2.

Understanding The "Dip and Correction" Cutoff Trend

Why is the 2026 cutoff expected to rise slightly from last year? In 2025, BITSAT scores saw a noticeable dip (e.g., Hyderabad CS dropped from 298 to 270). However, 2026 candidates have adapted to the newer question patterns. We anticipate a "correction" this year, meaning students should aim for at least 10–12 marks higher than the 2025 cutoff to stay in the safe zone.

Pilani Campus: Computer Science Expected Cutoff Range

For those aiming for the pinnacle of BITS admission, the B.E. Computer Science at the Pilani campus remains the most competitive. Based on our 3-year trend analysis (where 2024 saw a peak of 327 and 2025 dipped to 304), the Expected 2026 Range is 306–316. Accuracy in the Physics section is often the tie-breaker for this specific branch.

Day 2 Shift 1 Underway: Focus On Time Management

The first shift of Day 2 has officially begun. Based on yesterday’s trends, students are advised to tackle the English and Logical Reasoning sections first. These 30 questions are often the "low-hanging fruit" that build confidence. Historically, English and LR have remained 'Easy' across sessions, and securing these marks early allows more time for the typically lengthy Mathematics section.
