All Degrees, Board Certificates to go Digital: Prakash Javadekar
The ministry has fast-tracked the work on setting up a virtual database under which all the academic records will be available in digital format.
The Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development is planning to ensure that the academic degrees and certificates must be given to the students in a digital format from the next academic session, i.e., 2017. HRD Minster, Prakash Javadekar said that the ministry would work consistently to provide certificates in a digital format.

Javadekar said that the honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has launched Digital India campaign and aims to make the whole apparatus digital. He also mentioned that the ministry would give a chance to the students to upload their other certificates and awards which he/she has won earlier. Through this, the profile of the students will be available at one click.

He also stated that the ministry has fast-tracked the work on setting up a virtual database under which all the academic records will be available in digital format. The initiative has been taken to curb the menace of fake educational degrees and mark sheets. He said that the creation of virtual database would help the recruiters who wish to verify candidate background and other the credentials of applicants.
He mentioned that it is high time that people change their mindset. The problem in India is that change is taking place at a rapid phase but people are not adapting to these changes at the same pace.
