Ananda Mohan College Organised 'Gea Nostal 2016'

Ananda Mohan College (AMC) Kolkata celebrated its annual fest 'Gea Nostal -2016' .The power packed three-day celebration held recently.

The fest was organised by the students' union of the college. A spokesperson on behalf of the union said that this is the first time the annual fest has gone so huge and it has been organised for three consecutive days with all kinds of fun and entertainment packed in a single celebration.

When asked about this unique name 'Gea Nostal -2016' , the Assistant General Secretary of the Students' Union of the college, Kush Nag said: "this is the first time in the history of the college, we organised a super- packed fest that is running for three long days, the reason behind renaming it as Gea Nostal is that we wanted to create a cultural program that will bring the taste of the new age celebration with the flavours of the old and nostalgic sensations of Kolkata, a celebration which will be enjoyable for all of eight to eighties."

He added " Simultaneously, with this wholesome celebrations, we have tried to bring on an awareness of having safe eye sights and for that reason, we have also organised a free eye check-up camp at the Union room of the college. These days at least 55-60% of the student population of the whole India are suffering from eye weakness without even knowing about its greater consequences.So to bring an awareness in between the students about how they should take care of their eyes, what to do what not to do, what to see and what not to see etc. we have thought and organised this free Eye Checkup Camp and we have also arranged to distribute free spectacles to all the students who are willing to take part in this Eye Checkup Camp".

The full entertaining fest began on March 3rd, 2016 with all day long 'Rabindra Sangeet o Nrityo' performed by the students of Cultural Association of the college and thereafter the free Eye CheckUp Camp went on till evening. Thereafter On March 4th, 2016, Debate competition in between the existing students and the ex-students of the college, Choreography & Dance Competition and a power packed performance by guest singer Dharmendu Chowbey held and on the final day (i.e. March 5th, 2016) the celebration took an ultra height with Band KOLAJ, Band competition and performances by AMC Star Band and with DJ Night. 'Gea Nostal 2016' held at AMC's ground inside the college premises and students from all departments of the college and students from other colleges also participated at the fest.
