Bangalore University to Take New Registrations for 500 Ph.D. Scholars

Bangalore University is all set to invite applications for approximately 500 scholars according to the new notification approved by the syndicate recently. Now, after two years, Bangalore University will be taking up new registrations for Ph.D. scholars.

As per the university, the research positions in different departments will be announced soon. The researchers will not only be a part of the research work but at the same time, they will also add to the teaching faculty and will be allowed to attend few classes in the university departments.

To get admission into Bangalore University as a Ph.D. scholar, candidates will have to qualify the exam after which they will be given admission. SC/ST scholars will get the scholarship and other researchers will be duly paid according to the norms of Human Resource Development.

Presently, there are 182 scholars in the art department at the Bangalore University, the registrations for which took place between 2010-2015, about 642 in the science department, 215 in commerce, education law, and engineering, 283 in arts optional. However, only a few of them have been able to complete their researches by 2018 end.

Also, to reduce the burden of professors by guiding more number of PhDs, now even assistant and associate professors can guide Ph.D. scholars. Earlier there was a clause of 3-years’ experience for assistant professors which is no longer present.
