The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has changed the dates of some Class 12 exams to be held in West Bengal and Assam due to the upcoming assembly polls scheduled recently by the Election Commission.
The Election Commission on Friday i.e. March 4 announced the schedule for Assembly polls in four states and one union territory- Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry.
The elections are scheduled to be held between April 4 and May 16. The counting of votes on all seats in five states will take place on May 19.
According to a CBSE notice, the Class 12, Sociology exam will now be held on April 23 instead of April 4 as announced earlier whereas the Sanskrit (core) and Bengali exams have been rescheduled for the earlier date April 11 to April 26.
Meanwhile on Monday, March 14, many students after appearing in the Maths paper came out of the examination halls with tears in their eyes as the paper was said to be very tough to a majority of the students. Kerala Congress member K. V. Thomas in a discussion stated that "the government should take it seriously" as the Maths exam could hamper the future of many students.
