CBSE Scraps Awarding Divisions, Distinction in Class 10 and 12
Central Board of Secondary Education will not be declaring divisions and distinction for Class 12 and 10 students in the upcoming board examinations.
CBSE to Cancel Divisions and Distinction in Board Exams 2023: The Central Board of Secondary Education has clarified that it will not be awarding Distinctions and Divisions in Class 10 and 12 board examinations in 2024. A senior official from the board has shared the announcement on Friday, December 1 that the students will not see any distinction or division remark in their CBSE Board Results 2024. CBSE Scraps Awarding Divisions and Distinction in Class 10 and 12
The board used to provide distinction for meritorious students in the board exam results followed by first, second and third divisions for various percentages. CBSE awarded these divisions until 2023 exam results. However, the board has decided to scrap these titles in both the upcoming examinations.
Moreover, the board has also announced that if any candidate has opted and appeared in more than five subjects, then the admitting institution or the employer will be given the right if they want to count the score of the best five subjects or not. This announcement was made by Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller Examinations, CBSE in a recent press interview today. He added that the board does not calculate or declare the overall/partial percentage of the student in the CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board 2024 results.
The examinations for the upcoming session will be starting from February 15, 2024 this year. Detailed CBSE Board Exam Date Sheet 2024 is yet to be released by the board on its official website.
