CISCO Aims to Train 10 Lakh Students in Digital Skills by 2025
Through The Networking Academy programme, that is offered by the networking giant Cisco, the company has set its eyes on achieving the goal of training 10 lakh students by the year 2025. They also aim to improve the employability factor of the engineering students from Govt. Educational Institutions.
CISCO, one of the biggest networking Organisations in the world, has announced its massive goal of training 10 lakh students with in the next 6 years, i.e. 2025. The aim is to expand its Networking Academy Programme which will help in attracting and providing the training opportunities to the students across India.
With more than 580 academics across the country and over 3.5 lakh students from India trained since the introduction of the programme, The Networking Academy Programme that has been offered by CISCO is one of the largest training projects that have been undertaken in the world. The Skills Development Programme that is delivered via Cloud, trains the students in different areas such as Designing, Building, Securing and Maintaining the digital framework. Among the courses that will be taught to the students under the curriculum of the programme include the Internet of Things, programming, cybersecurity, networking as well as IT essentials among others.
At the CISCO Summit India, the organisation had revealed that they had envisioned to train 2.5 lakh students by the year 2020. However, statistics report that not only have they met the goal a year before the stipulated time period but they have also been able to cross 3.5 lakh mark before the year 2020.

The curriculum of the programme provided by CISCO, sources state, to the different educational institutions ranging from schools and universities to non-profit and government organisations have been designed in such a manner that it can be added to the existing curriculum of the various course or programmes that are offered by the college. The Organisation also believes in providing the necessary educational training to the students of the Government Educational Institutions so as to improve the employability factor of the students as well.

Commenting on the success of the Networking Academy Programme, the Union Secretary of Telecom Aruna Sundarajan had stated that such educational activities that bring about a positive change in the youth of the country are what the government stands for.
