CTET 2021 Day 1 Paper 1 concluded on December 16, 2021. The exam was conducted in the morning session which started at 9:30 AM and ended at 12:00 PM. There were five sections in Paper 1: Language I and II, Mathematics, Child Development & Pedagogy, and Environmental Studies. Each section had 30 questions and the total questions for the paper were 150. The paper was conducted for total marks of 150. As per the feedback received by the students, the overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. The students found the paper not too difficult nor too easy.
Though the overall paper was moderate, the students found Mathematics and EVS pedagogy-based questions a bit tricky. The topics from which the questions were asked included Dienes Block, Vygotsky-ZPD, LCM-HCF, Development Stages, Intelligence Test, NCF 2005, Sloth, Maps & Direction, Shelter-Bamboo, Seeds, Figure of Speech (Smile/ Metaphor), and Union Tertiary. The Hindi and English paper was of moderate difficulty level. As per the student’s response, Child Development & Pedagogy section was quite easy. However, the pedagogy questions from the Mathematics section were easy yet logical.
Based on the difficulty level and the response submitted by the students, the average number of very good attempts can be expected to be 135+. The students who have attempted 100+ questions can say that they have got through a good number of attempts. One of the interesting parts of the exam was that some of the questions were repeated from the previous year’s question paper. The students stated that practicing the previous year’s question paper helped them a lot through CTET 2021 exam.
