Delhi CM Inaugurates Phase II Building at IIIT Delhi Campus
IIIT Delhi new Phase II building was officially inaugurated by Delhi CM on August 21, 2018. Under Phase II, IIIT Delhi has built a lecture hall block, new academic block, two hostel blocks, faculty residential block and a sports block.
Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the Phase II Building atIIIT Delhi (Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology)on August 21, 2018. Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister of Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia was also present at the inaugural ceremony. The Chief Guests and officials toured the Phase II campus of IIIT Delhi during their visit.
Delhi CM appreciated thestate-of-the-art infrastructureof IIIT Delhi and appreciated and everyone's efforts behind the same.
The Director of IIIT Delhi, Professor Pankaj Jalote thanked Delhi CM and Education Minister for gracing the inaugural ceremony with their kind presence. He expressed his gratitude to the state government of Delhi for providing complete support in building upPhase IIwithin a short time, he added.

At present, IIIT Delhi has fully developed and an advanced infrastructure, spread in 25 acres of Okhla Industrial Estate (Phase III). The campus has all the facilities necessary for students. With an aim to provide better education and training, IIIT Delhi decided to expand its campus and improve infrastructure. A proposal for the same was put forward in 2015, and the premier institute has been successful in expanding its campus.
Under Phase II, IIIT Delhi built Lecture Hall Block, New Academic Block, two hostel blocks, faculty residential block and a sports block. Theeight-storey academic blockhas lecture halls that can accommodate 400 students, 116 faculty rooms and 58 labs. The11-storeyed hostel blockhas 197 double-seated rooms and 21 married accommodation facility. Thefaculty residence blockhas 12 stories with 44 flats.

IIIT Delhi Phase II buildings will utilize solar power, and the process of setting up solar power plants is underway.
