DU Admissions 2017: No Entrance Test for UG Courses; Cut-off System to Continue
The Delhi University will not be conducting any entrance exam for admission to undergraduate programmes. The administration informed that admissions will be conducted on the basis of the traditional cut-off system.
According to recent reports, the Delhi University will not be conducting any entrance exam for admission to undergraduate programmes. Earlier this year, DU administration was contemplating over the introduction of entrance tests for UG programmes.
The university has recently informed the HRD Ministry that there will be no entrance exam for UG programmes. The administration further added that admissions will be conducted on the basis of the traditional cut-off system.
After much discussion and deliberation, the idea has been rolled back for the session 2017. According to a senior official, various recommendations were made regarding entrance exams for UG courses.

However, Delhi University has decided not to go ahead the plan as a lot of feasibility study is required before the idea is implemented and placed before the statutory bodies.
The university is looking forward to starting the admission process in the third week of April in order to avoid confusion and chaos. The students will get extra time to apply as the process will be started a month prior to the regular schedule.
The university is expected to start the application procedure sometime between April 20 and April 25. Students will be able to apply for different UG programmes online even before the announcement of Class 12 results for CBSE and other state boards.

The application procedure has been totally digitized and students will be required to register themselves through the admission portal of Delhi University. Students will also be required to submit the self-attested and scanned photocopies of relevant educational certificates.
