The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) has announced that they will be taking the financial responsibility of studies for 50 students who have come to DU by scoring well in the qualifying examinations and belong from the economically weaker section. The Students Union which is now led by Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) affiliated unit, has said that the admission process of such students has been already started.

DUSU has released an online form for admission of such students and they will publish the names of the selected student in the first week of August. Students can directly apply in the DUSU portal.

The outfit has informed that DUSU has sent letters to request Delhi MPs, social workers, and other important ministers to support students coming from weaker economic and financial backgrounds.

DUSU president, Shakti Sigh has said that a number of students came to help for getting financial help while the admission process was on in DU. The ABVP led DUSU has decided to help 50 students coming from the economically weaker backgrounds financially for education. The union will also try to acquire help from civic bodies, the ministers of the state and other people.

Previously, National Students' Union of India (NSUI) affiliated under Congress had announced a help drive on the birthday of Rahul Gandhi to pay a one-year fee of students taking admission in Delhi University this academic year and who belong to a family of martyrs in warfront or are the children of farmers who were compelled to commit suicide due to bank loans.
