First Manipuri Technical University Inaugurated
The governor said that the technical university is a new hub for technical education where talents and opportunities come together for the better future.
The Governor of Manipur, V Shanmuganathan inaugurated the firstManipuri Technical Universityat the State Academy of Training, Takyelpat campus. The varsity was established on 23rdApril 2016 through an ordinance of government. The governor said that the technical university is a new hub for technical education where talents and opportunities come together for the better future. He mentioned that there is a need to grow further with improving the quality of the university and aim for many achievements.

All the technical institutions in the state are affiliated to Manipur Technical University. The University is offering B.Tech course in various streams. This is the second technical university in the northeast region, and the first in Assam.

The Vice Chancellor of University Mr Vanid Joshi announced that a total number of 128 students have already registered in various streams of B.Tech.
The primary objective of the university is to produce technologists. The focus is on the innovative ideas which benefit not only the students of Manipur but also the students of neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Myanmar.
