GITAM University Organises ‘Pramana 2K17’ - Technical & Cultural Management Fest
It is a management fest which is organised by the School of Science, School of Technology and Hyderabad Business School (HBS).
The annual technical and cultural fest of GITAM University ‘Pramana 2K17’ commenced in a grand manner on February 2, 2017. It is a management fest which is organised by the School of Science, School of Technology and Hyderabad Business School (HBS). On the first day, a total number of 500 students from the city participated in various competitions.
The fest was inaugurated by G. Padmanabhan, Director of International Advanced Research Centre (Power Metallurgy). Pro-VC of GITAM University, Prof. Siva Prasad and Principal of School of Technology were also present on the occasion.

Prof Prasad indicated that the students start to learn something outside of the classroom. Students need to interact with experts in the industry to gain practical knowledge and develop ideas, and these ideas need to be converted into innovations. Technical and cultural fests will bring all the students together and help them exchange ideas and knowledge.
Mr. Padmanabham motivated the students by explaining them the fact that profession is a practice and the students need to and can learn a lot while practising. He further added that the knowledge or its application goes beyond the classroom and practice knowledge does not come merely from books. Students can gain practical knowledge by interacting with professionals of various fields. The students should always think of transforming ideas into innovations.

Pratyusha, a third-year B.Tech student of GITAM University, expressed her excitement with ‘Pramana’, regarding it as one of the biggest annual fests which provides an opportunity to students to interact with the students of other colleges and exchange ideas. She further added that this year, the number of competitions and activities lined up this year was more than the usual.
