In the year 2015, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandra Babu Naidu also increased the retirement age of all the school teachers to 60 years from the earlier 58 years. His decision was criticised by most of the teachers as they claimed that it is hard to work for 8-9 hours per day. The government also cancelled pensions for government teachers and other job holders after the retirement. However, all the teachers continued to get medical benefits after the retirement.
