CollegeDekho News Desk, New Delhi:The ICSE English Exam 2026 was successfully held on February 18, 2026. Paper 1 was a language test that had questions from Composition, Grammar, Writing and Vocabulary. Based on 41 responses received on the Google form available atICSE English Answer Key 2026, around 78.04% students rated the overall difficulty level of the paper ‘Easy’ while others found the exam ‘Moderate’. Although the exam received largely positive feedback, many pointed out that the comprehension section was lengthy and time-consuming.

Madhuri, a student from Karnataka, rated the exam ‘Easy’ and said that she‘expected difficult questions, but it was quite a remarkable paper.'Another student, Ayan from Mumbai, thought the‘paper was easy, composition topics were good.’Raaghav from Bengaluru, Karnataka, felt the same. He said,'Paper was easy and had great essay topics.'Kaustubh from Lucknow is expecting around 75 marks out of 80 and had a similar opinion. According to him,'the paper was pretty easy overall, General questions were asked'.

Not everyone was on the same page, though. The comprehension passage did not sit right with many of the students. They termed the paper longer than usual, adding that the comprehension questions were particularly time-intensive.

Rakshan, an ICSE student from Chennai, felt the exam was manageable, but comprehension was time-consuming. According to him,'the paper was pretty easy, but comprehension took a long time'. He predicted that he would get over 70 marks. Another student, Michael from Thrissur, answered all the questions and said the exam was ‘Easy’. He is expecting 68 out of 80 marks and mentioned,'The 2026 English paper was fair but incredibly tight on time.'

A smaller group of students rated the paper as moderate. Apita from Kolkata and Devi from Hyderabad are expecting marks around 55 to 60. Zainab from Pune mentioned that the paper was ‘Moderate’. According to her,'The exam was really easy, including the essay topics, Grammar, notice and email, letter, although the comprehension was a bit tough.'

As per the responses received by students, the ICSE English Exam 2026 received split opinions from students. It was a student-friendly paper, but the comprehension section was a bit challenging. Most of the students are expecting marks in the range of 65 to 80.
