IIIT Hyderabad to Organise Research & Development Showcase 2019
IIIT Hyderabad will organise research expo ‘R&D Showcase 2019’ on February 23, 2019. The event is a platform for students and faculty of universities and colleges understand IIIT Hyderabad research initiatives.
The annual flagship event of IIIT Hyderabad, ‘R&D Showcase 2019’ will take place on February 23, 2019. It is a unique opportunity for the general public to interact with students and faculty of IIIT Hyderabad to understand their research initiatives in a more tangible manner.
The students and faculty of IIIT Hyderabad will explain their research initiatives to the general public through presentations, display of prototypes and demos. The aim of R&D Showcase is to promote applied research that will benefit society. The annual flagship event is expected to witness the participation of over 1,500 visitors from academia, industry and media. Popular investors will be also present at the event.

Giving details about the event, Dean (Research) at IIIT Hyderabad, Dr. Vasudeva Varma revealed that the researchers at IIIT Hyderabad would exhibit their own latest technological innovations in the entertainment domain by using automated content generation, cognitive science and computer vision. Hundreds of projects from IIIT Hyderabad, other research centres and labs will be on display during the event, he added.

R&D Showcase 2019 will play a dominant role in creating research interest in university and college students and faculty. It is also a platform for the industry to identify areas of research collaboration with IIIT Hyderabad.
The event will begin at 10:00 AM and will continue until 6:00 PM. On February 23, 2019. A panel discussion will take place on the 'role of emerging technology and research in medicine and healthcare'.
