IIM Bangalore Launches General Management Programme for Young Leaders
- IIM Bangalore has launched General Management Programme for Young Leaders (YLP).
- The basic content of the course will be delivered through MOOCs, while classroom engagement will focus on role plays, management games and case discussions.
IIM Bangalorehas launched a new course for young leaders namely‘General Management Programme for Young Leaders (YLP)’. The objective of the new course is to provide holistic management education. The new course not only targets young leaders possessing three to five years of experience but also first generation entrepreneurs without any managerial experience. Through the new YLP course, the learning programme is imparted with the help of selectedMOOCs(Massive Online and Open Courses). Regular classroom interaction will be a part of the new course.

Financing & Accounting Faculty and Programme Director, Professor MS Narasimhan revealed that the new course will lay a strong foundation in management and create confidence in handling complicated problems. For the past four decades, IIM Bangalore has been seeking to address this challenge through a unique course for young leaders.
As per the plan, the course will be taught inonline mode. However, the one-day lecture will be provided to participants during the campus module session. Faculty members of IIM Bangalore will take part incampus module sessionto guide the students. For obtaining better outcomes, the premier institute is combining the online and in-class sessions for the first time.

IIM Bangalore has identified 10 core management courses for the holistic view of management. These core courses will be included in the YLP course. These ten courses will be divided into two modules including:
- Functional Management
- Foundations for Management
The Functional Management module will include the following courses:
- Strategic Management
- People Management
- Corporate Finance
- Marketing Management
- Operations Management
The Foundations for Management module will include will include the following courses:
- Accounting for Decision Making
- Business Statistics and Analytics
- Business Communication
- Organisation Design for Creating Competitive Advantage
- Business and Economics
The new course will be offered through blended format leveraging technology. The basic content of the course will be delivered through MOOCs, whileclassroom engagementwill focus on role plays, management games and case discussions.
