IIM-C Students Get 13% Salary Hike

<p>The recently concluded final placement for the eighth batch (2014-15) of Post Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta witnessed a number of management consulting, e-commerce and manufacturing companies making a beeline for the graduating students.
There were presence of large number of recruiters like Flipkart, Accenture, Atos Origin, CGN, L&T, Daimler, Outotec, Ford, Snapdeal, Hero Motocorp, TCS, ACC, TVS Motors, KPMG, Wheels India and Marvel Realtors. Average salary for the batch is Rs 16.72 lakh and the highest is Rs 22.5 lakh a year. Compared to last year’s average salary of Rs 14.75L p.a, there has been a significant increase of 13%.
Commenting on the placement, Prof. Partha Priya Datta, chairperson, PGPEX-VLM, said the media, “Average salary has increased 13% over last year. In fact, this year we saw increased interest in our programme from global majors such as Rolls Royce, Airbus through offer of internships to our students. In an effort to enhance the continuing industrial interface of the programme, we started building relationship with global majors as RR and Airbus beyond industry lectures. RR and Airbus offered challenging sourcing projects to our graduating batch students last year. This year talks are also on to increase their engagement with the programme.”
