IIM-Indore Celebrated 19th Foundation Day

<p>Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I), celebrated its 19th foundation day with plethora of activities.

A series of lecture was organized on the occasion.
Chief guest and founder of NGO Goonj, Anshu Gupta while delivering his lecture on 'Look beyond, see invisible' said, "We are living in a country where one is unable to get the facility for which he is paying tax. We need to turn urban wastage into rural resources. There are millions of people who die due to extreme cold during winters, because they don't have any clothes. Being privileged part of the society, you owe major responsibility to work for society's betterment,"

Gupta also discussed about education, health and hygiene needs of children and females in rural areas. "We need to bridge urban and rural divide as there is a major difference between what we are doing and what needs to be done for welfare of underprivileged society. We need to focus on receiver's dignity rather than donor's pride," he added.

Director of institute Prof Rishikesha T Krishnan welcomed the guest and chief guests. Students who did better for academic excellence was also awarded certificate to top five percentile of the combined batch of the PGP (Batch 2014-16) and IPM (Batch 2011-16) students based on their academic performance in the year 2014-15. All total 28 students were given certificates.

IIM Indore's Best Teacher Award 2015 was also declared on the basis of student feedback and qualitative factors such as innovation in course design and delivery etc.

The prgramme concluded with violin recital by Milind Raikar, Raykar Academy of Violin, Mumbai.
