IIM Raipur Hosts its 8th Annual Convocation
The 8th annual convocation was held at the Indian Institute of Management - IIM Raipur at the auditorium of the institute. The institute heads were present and Chairman of TRAI was invited as the chief guest at the ceremony.
On April 25th, 2019, the newly situated Indian Institue of Management - IIM Raipur celebrated its 8th convocation day. A total of 241 degrees were awarded at the 8th convocation day at IIM Raipur. 179 degrees were awarded to the graduates of the 2017-19 academic year students and 54 were awarded to the 2016-18 batch students. The institute also awarded 8 Ph.D. degrees.
The graduating students with joy donned their graduation robes which came to them after two years of hard work and academic perseverance. Students were highly excited that day to receive the result of their hard work. The auditorium filled with joy when the degrees were offered.
Many esteemed guests graced the convocation ceremony with their presence in the IIM Raipur campus and they also motivated students for their next course of life. The esteemed guest list at IIM Raipur included the Chairman of Telecom Regulation Authority of India (TRAI) Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma, who had also preceded as the chief guest in the ceremony.
Shyamala Gopinathan, the chairman of Board of Governors at IIM Raipur and Prof. Bharat Bhasker, the director of IIM Raipur were also present in the convocation ceremony on Thursday.
While motivating the students, Dr. Sharma said that the difficult times of life are the times when most of the opportunities for greatness bloom. Dr. Sharama had also suggested students should be proud of their background and be who they are. Pretending to be someone else is futile.

Shyamala Gopinathan congratulated Prof. Bharat Bhaskar for winning the best director award at the 12th conference of Indian subcontinent division sciences Institute before starting her speech in the ceremony at IIM Raipur.
