The dates for students’ elections in both Delhi University (DU) and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) are going to clash as Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is planning to hold its student union polls on September 11, though officially an announcement is yet to be made.

Delhi University students are gearing up for the September 11 which is DU’s polling date,

JNUSU is the representative body of the students in the JNU. The polls have been keenly contested over decades. The poll pattern at JNU differs from that of Delhi University. Apart from the routine campaigning, the candidates in JNU are also supposed to make speeches about their agenda followed by a round of questions at the ‘Presidential debate’.

Left-backed All India Students' Association (AISA) had swept the JNUSU polls last year bagging all the top four positions, including the President's post, for the second consecutive year.

In Delhi University, too, campaigning will be tougher with 50 colleges spread across the city, which come under the Delhi University Students’ Union and only a week to campaign.
