Kerala: Students Raise Complaints against Three Private Medical Colleges
All these colleges are directed by ASC to conduct admissions to MBBS based on merit, maintaining academic excellence and transparency.
Some of the medicine aspirants of Kerala raised complaints against three private medical colleges. They alleged that the colleges did not publish the final rank lists as directed by the Admission Supervisory Committee (ASC). Finally, ASC intervened the issue and directed the colleges to publish all the lists immediately.
Responding to the complaints from the students, the ASC has sent notices to the following colleges:-
- Mount Zion Medical College, Adoor
- Pushpagiri Medical College, Thiruvalla
- PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences, Palakkad
All these colleges are directed to conduct admissions to MBBS based on merit, maintaining academic excellence and transparency.
After scrutinising the applications received by the medical colleges and rank lists, the Committee found that Mount Zion Medical College did not publish the final rank list. The committee ordered the Chairman of the college to publish the list immediately.

After monitoring the website of Pushpagiri Medical College, the Committee found that the names of only 29 candidates were published. The students alleged that the NRI rank list published by the college is illegal and the college allotted seats to the candidates with lower NEET ranks. When the ASC questioned the college management, they explained that the management seats have been allocated by Kerala Christan Professional College Managements’ (KCPCM).
PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences published the list of eligible as well as the rejected candidates. However, the college did not publish the corresponding ranks of the applicants.
The committee assured the students that all the complaints would be resolved immediately.
