KIET Ghaziabad Students win NASA honours
A Team of Four Members have been awarded the Neil Armstrong Award for Best Design at the Annual Rover Challenge that is conducted in the USA. The competition was held between 115 teams from all over the world.
A four-member team comprising of engineering students from a private Institute, Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology had participated in a competition among 115 teams from all over the world. They were competing for the showcasing best design for a Mars Rover. The four-member Team from the Institute has won the global competition.
Under the college category, the team members had won the Neil Armstrong Award for Best Design in the 25th edition of the Annual Rover Challenge which was held at the US Space and Rocket Centre situated in Alabama. The competition was held for two consecutive days, i.e. 12th and 13th April 2019.

The four-member team had named themselves as ‘Team Interstellars’. It comprised of four students pursuing different areas of engineering. The team was headed by Shatakshi Dwivedi, who is pursuing a course inMechanical Engineering, along with Suyash Yadav and Utkarsh Sharma who are mechanical engineering students as well. Abhimanyu Bhagat was the fourth member of the team and is anElectrical Engineeringstudent. All four students had been working hard for more six months for the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge. They started the preparation in September of 2018.

The team advisor and faculty from the Institute, Tuhin Srivastava had stated that the students had been working hard for the past six months. He also added that this was the first time that the students had participated in the competition and won against several teams who had been participating for over 20 years.
