Kota University misguides students for M. Sc in Life Science courses

Kota University claims that they are preparing scholars of Life Science in accordance with NET or JRF syllabus, but around of 60% of the Practical syllabus do not give any practical training. University takes a very good fee for this course but there is none of these facilities to be found.

Kota University claims that Life Science subject is one of the most demanded courses today, that’s why they have started PG courses like M. Sc in Life Science. Most of these courses started in 2008 and the university claims that the course is designed in such a way that it incorporates most of the portion of UGC-CSIR NET syllabus. Students adopting this course will be benefited in qualifying the national level tests, and over 2 lakh jobs are offered every year to the students who do post graduation in Life Science in India.

But now the lies advocated by Kota University lie exposed because there is in fact, no infrastructure for Life Science department, no lab for practicals, and not enough classrooms. Reports say that due to lack of proper infrastructure, classes of two semesters are conducted in one room. The same is true for the lecturer’s and office uses. M. Sc in Life Science from Kota University has no value in RPSC. It’s a very strange that on the name of equipments there is not even microscope.

Further discrepancy arises from the fact that even though on the university website, course fee cited is 9,000 per annum but at the time of admission, the university charges Rs. 13,500 and also takes registration and examination fees separately. The university also promises to organize student visits to industries/ dams/ sanctuaries/ national parks etc., as part of course, but charge students separately.
