LNMIIT, Jaipur Introduces B.Tech, M.Tech & Ph.D in ECE

LNMIIT, Jaipur will now offer B.Tech, M.Tech & Ph.D Programmes in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) . The decision was made to provide student with an education that focuses on modern day technology. ECE is an essential branch of engineering as it sees to the global and human needs of the 21st century and also contributes a large part to research and development.

There has been a surge in technology that demands students pursuing technical education to be well acquainted with materials and device technology, software defined networking, real-time embedded systems, fast and secure communication, VLSI, virtual reality, devices and systems, etc, in order to walk alongside technical development.

LNMIIT, Jaipur offers an updated curriculum in the B.Tech Program in ECE to ensure that students develop strong fundamentals. Subjects such as Analog and Digital Circuits, Programming and Data Structures, Digital Signal Processsing, Signal and Systems, Micro-Processor & Micro-Controller, RF and Microwaves Techniques, etc. Apart from the classroom learning students will also be encouraged to embrace a practical approach with the sessions of basic and advanced level ECE labs. To appeal the students, this programme has been designed to provide students with choices among various advanced Program Electives and the Science Electives each semester.

Opportunities for summer and Winter Internship on the completion of first year is also provided to the students. These opportunities will include working in the Department and assisting the department in the sponsored research projects.

Research programs are also organized with institutions such as IITD, IIT-Patna and IIT-Jodhpur so that students can be well-versed with collaborative research, methodologies, Technical Project writing, etc. this will help the students to get ready for the professional worlds and internship opportunities abroad.

Programme Highlights:

Faculty: ECE department, LNMIIT, Jaipur has appointed faculty will vast experience in research and the industry as well. Most of the faculty members are from IITs and other recognized international universities.

Laboratories: Practical education at LNMIIT, Jaipur has been designed very carefully to provide quality knowledge. Following is the lab curriculum that the institute has adapted:

• Basic Electronics Lab (I and II)
• Digital Circuits and Systems Lab,
• Analog and Digital Communication labs
• Digital Signal Processing Lab
• Optical and Microwaves Lab
• Microprocessor Lab
• Embedded Systems Lab
• Design with FPGA Lab
• Simulation lab

Various partnerships have helped the institute to establish advanced labs. The Microprocessor lab was developed in collaboration with Intel and the Embedded system lab is supported by Texas Instruments and ARM. Other partners are Xilinx University program and Cisco. Apart from the formal practical lessons, students also utilize them for developing their projects. Government of India has sponsored ECE Department, LNMIIT, Jaipur for a 3 year project on Cognitive Radio.

Workshops and Seminars: Interactive sessions, workshops and seminars are conducted for students. These are chaired by professionals of the genre where students get to learn from their experience. Modeling, Simulation and Computational Techniques (WMSC-2015) workshop was among the recent workshops that was organized by the institute from January 15 - 17, 2015.

IEEE Student Chapter: LNMIIT started the student chapter of IEEE to provide them with sources and environment for international level research. Both students and faculty members of the department participate in research under this organization.
