Maharashtra School and College Holiday Update 30 January 2026:Due to the tragic loss of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash, the whole of Maharashtra is in deep mourning. Today, January 29, his final rites were conducted by his sons, Parth Pawar and Jay Pawar, who performed the last rites with full state honours in Baramati, where thousands of supporters, family members, political leaders, and citizens gathered to pay their final respects. In view of this devastating event, the Maharashtra Government declared a holiday on January 28 and announced official mourning for three days, i.e., until 30 January 2026. Therefore, there is no official Maharashtra School and College Holiday Update for 30 January 2026 yet, so the holiday is unlikely.

Ajit Pawar’s Last Rites and Public Mourning
The Senior NCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar’s has been cremated, and a large group of people showed deep public emotion. Several renowned political figures, including Maharashtra Leaders and national dignitaries, attended the ceremony. Media reports and live footage are disheartening to watch, showcasing the end of his final journey. He died on 28 January 2026 when the chartered aircraft he was travelling in crashed-landed near Baramati airport, killing all five people on board.
Tragic Accident Investigation & Ongoing Updates
As per media reports, authorities have found a black box from the crashed Learjet 45, and investigation teams from DGCA and AAIB are inspecting the matter. The whole state is in grief, along with political leaders highlighting its role in Maharashtra politics and the shock of his sudden passing.
