Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Nagpur Gets a New Campus

Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Nagpur will be shifted to a new venue at Waranga near Mihan, after the advisory committee under Chief Justice raised objections during its recent meeting in Mumbai.

The MNLU will be offered 75 acres while the remaining would be allotted to Ramtek-based Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) for setting up its sub-center. The Waranga site is near the state highway. It was actually proposed for the terminal market, but now it will be shifted to Kaladongri.

The affidavit mentioned about progress of establishing MNLU which would commence operations from its temporary campus at judicial officers training academy (JOTI) from Civil Lines.

Students will be admitted through their score of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The Nagpur MNLU entered into a pact with Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala, that would be conducting the CLAT on May 8, 2016. The institution will be using CLAT score to admit students, who had to apply separately, since it was not the part of centralized admission process.

The students will be accommodated at hostels of Pre-IAS Academy at old Morris College. The MNLU also entered into tie ups with Officers Club for offering recreational and sporting facilities and Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur for offering indoor stadium for students. The students would also get access to books and journals of All India Reporter (AIR) and can use their library.

The Institute will start it’s first batch in the city from this academic year.
