NEET PG Round 3 Choice Filling 2025 Postponed Again
NEET PG Round 3 choice filling & locking are postponed again by MCC due to pending Supreme Court issues and a revised seat matrix (292+ new seats). Subsequent counselling rounds are also on hold. Check MCC's site for the new schedule. Choice locking is tentatively expected in early February.
NEET PG Round 3 Choice Filling 2025 Postponed Again:The Medical Counselling Committee has again postponed the NEET PG Round 3 choice filling process until further notice. Along with it, the round 3 NEET PG choice locking process is put on hold. Consequently, the subsequent rounds of the NEET PG round 3 counselling process have also been postponed. Due to the pending legal matters in the Supreme Court, the round 3 NEET PG counselling process got postponed. It is expected that the revised round 3 schedule will be released soon on the official website. For the same, the candidates are advised to constantly check the official website of MCC for getting the latest updates.
Reason behind NEET PG Round 3 Choice Filling 2025 Postponed
Here are the primary reasons behind the NEET PG Round 3 choice filling and the rest of the counselling processes in the following section:
- Supreme Court Proceeding: The MCC has addressed the Supreme Court Proceeding as a major reason for the NEET PG Round 3 choice filling and choice locking postponement. More specifically, the NEET round 2 cutoff was reduced to the 0th percentile and -40 score for the SC, ST category candidates and for the same, the candidates filed a PIL in the Supreme Court against the government’s decision regarding the revised cutoff.
- Revision of Round 3 Seat Matrix: The NBEMS and National Medical Commission recently revised the round 3 seat matrix (includes some newly approved postgraduate medical seats, which are 292+ new seats and withdrawal of certain seats). This might need extra time for the candidates to add their preferences.
NEET PG Round 3 Choice Locking 2025: Tentative Start Date
Although the authority has yet to declare the official date for resuming the NEET PG Round 3 counselling process, it is assumed that the choice-locking process will likely resume in the first week of February. After 2 to 3 days of the choice locking, the MCC will release the NEET PG round 3 seat allotment result 2026 on the official website.
