NEET SS 2022 Aspirants Approach SC against Revised Exam Pattern

NEET SS 2022 Aspirants have approached Supreme Court in order to protest against the arbitrary and illogical changes that have been suddenly introduced in the exam pattern this year for theNEET SS exam. As reported by prominent media outfits, several MD Anesthesiologists and MD Radiation Oncologists had approached the SC in order to petition against the sudden change in the exam pattern for NEET SS 2022.
Previous NEET SS Exam Pattern
The original NEET SS exam pattern had a fair and level playing ground for NEET SS aspirants from different specialities. There were 40 per cent mixed questions from all broad specialities and 60 per cent questions from super specialities.

New Exam Pattern of NEET SS 2022
Now, the exam pattern for NEET SS has been changed. According to the revised exam pattern, aspirants will have to attempt 150 questions from the general or the primary feeder broad speciality subject (mainly, general medicine) and from all subspecialties of the primary feeder broad speciality subject. This has created outrage amongst the SS aspirant fraternity with many claiming that it is only beneficial to those students who are MD General Medicine.
Moreover, the draft regulations put forward by the National Medical Commission (NMC) is also considered to be draconian and partial, with their proposal regarding the scrapping of MD Radiation Oncology or radiotherapy as eligible courses for SS courses of Medical Oncology has not been well received by the medical fraternity.
Aspirants have called the new exam pattern and the proposal put forward by the NMC to be illogical, partial, arbitrary and unreasonable. They have alleged that this will make their preparation and efforts go in vain.
