New Courses on Skill Development from 30 January 2016

National Skill Development has taken the initiative to introduce new skill development courses for the academic year 2016. These courses will be introduced in the education system once it is given a nod by the directorate of vocational education and training (DVET) on 30 January 2016. A formal event will be organised for the same in Pune, as announced by by C A Ninale, the DVET regional director, last Monday.

Ninale said, “The courses Direct-to-home (DTH) and Smartphone repairing courses will be formally introduced in an event at the Rajaram College on the said date, for which the guardian minister Chandrakant Patil will also be present. The motive to introduce the courses is to bring the youngsters with low qualifications into the mainstream by giving them more opportunities through these courses. Students opting for the courses will have to pay a nominal fee, which will be returned to them once they complete the course.”

Ninale pointed out that there are about 32 different institutes in the district which offer education in many different professional courses. “The Industrial Training Institute (ITI) is also one of the institutes, which provides education in various industry related fields and we have recently introduced several new courses with the changing times," Ninale added.
