No Mass Singing of National Anthem at Lucknow University
Lucknow University forgot to organise an event to celebrate the 70th Independence day.
On August 23rd,Lucknow University (LU)was suppose to organise an event to celebrate the 70thIndependence day. But the university failed to do so and did not organise themandatory mass singing of the national anthem by the students.The name of the event was Azadi 70 - Yaad Karo Qurbani (Freedom Fortnight) on Tuesday.
Few days back, on August 5, it was announced by the Union ministry of human resource development (MHRD) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) that mass singing of the national anthem will be a organised by every college and varsity in the college at 11am on August 23.

Lucknow University recently unveiled a bronze statue of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji. The flag hoisting ceremony was also not conducted by many colleges affiliated to Lucknow University.
SB Nimse, Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University agreed to the fact that it was wrong that they did not organise the event, but he also clarified that they did not have any information about the order andgot to know about it very late.
When dean, Anil Shukla was contacted, he said that NK Pandey, the spokesperson would have been the right person to answer queries. Further NK Pandey did not comment.

In order to educate the students regarding the freedom movement and celebrate 70th Independence Day of India, the event was being organised. Also, UGC had proposed that this would also re-instill the spirit of patriotism among the students.
AtAligarh Muslim University,more than 3000 students sang in chorus the ‘Jana Gana Mana...’, i.e the national anthem of India.
