<p>The recent decision of Supreme Court, to cancel the AIPMT for alleged exam paper leaked that had affected around 6.3 lakhs students, has evoked mixed reaction from the parents and students from cross section of the society.
The Apex Court asked CBSE to conduct a re-test within four weeks. While CBSE has cleared its stance to SC that it was not possible to conduct AIPMT within a month as per direction of the court and they need at least three months to conduct re-examination.
On Friday the Supreme Court has extended the time for conducting AIPMT by one month and directed CBSE to hold the test and declare result by 17 August.
For a section of the students, the decision have brought only troubles to them and there was no need to cancel the whole examination process while other section of the students communities feel that SC was right in strictness in dealing with such unfair practice and cancelling the examination as it will restore the faith amongst the students and parents.
&ldquo;It is a sheer wastage of time and energy for the students. We have schedules of other entrance examinations during this time. We are in utter uncertainties,&rdquo; says Sumit Bhora, a student from Pitampura Delhi.
&ldquo;Is there any guarantee that such malpractices will not happen again? Authority should bring the culprit to book and find out the loopholes in the examination system in today&rsquo;s E- age time,&rdquo; suggests Ritesh Panda, a parents of a student from Agra.
While several teachers and parents have welcomed the decision of SC. Deepak Lalchandani, programme coordinator of a management institute in Farukhnagar says, &ldquo;The SC&rsquo;s decision is right. It will bring back the confidence of the students. There were lots of uncertainties in the minds of the students. Their faiths have to be restored .Otherwise, they will lose hope in such test examination.&rdquo;
Professor Raj Kumar, department of English Government College Gurgaon says, &ldquo;No doubt the move on the part of SC is a welcomed decision but it will be definitely a burden on the students to prepare again for the same examination.&rdquo;
According to reports of Rohtak Police to apex court, around 44 tech savvy student availed the benefit of electronic devices using mobile phone equipped with Bluetooth and Whatsapp.
On Monday last SC had given Haryana Police a week&rsquo;s time to trace out the culprits and directed to eliminate the candidates from AIPMT 2015 re-entrance exam.
&ldquo;Interestingly, for the students who could not fare well in the examination, the verdict of the SC has come as a breather for them to improve their score this time!&rdquo; comments a student jokingly in a social networking site.
