The President urged the students to foster a spirit of inquiry and said that knowledge is going to be the order of this age. He further said that India has excellent NITs, IITs, management development institutions that offer 100 percent campus recruitment. He added that many of the graduates from these top colleges and Institutions are heading world-class institutions all over the world. This is the bright side of India, said the President.

He added that he unhappy that no Indian scholar, working in at any University of India, has won a Nobel Prize since 1930. It was C V Raman who did it 80 years back. He asked whether India has not been able to create the kind of conducive atmosphere to do research.

He also made a reference to a global ranking of top 200 universities in the world. He expressed his displeasure that no a single Indian University figured there. However, of late two Universities have made their presence at very lower positions.
