Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada has granted research centers for ECE and Mechanical Engineering Departments of Narasaraopet Engineering College. The college management conducted a press meet to give the details of the achievement.
Chairman of the college, M Chakravarty said, “It is really a great achievement to receive research center accreditation to ECE to ME Departments of the college. Now, the students who have completed their M.Tech course in Electronics and Mechanical Engineering can purse Ph.D. at college. The faculty of the two departments can also pursue doctorate program. The HOD’s and faculty members of CSE and ME department who have already done Ph.D. will be acting as guides to the research scholars”.
The officials of JNTUK had visited the college on 13-June-2016. The document related to grant of research center had been handedover to the chairman of the college by the Vice chancellor of JNTUK, Prof. VVSN Kumar. They congratulated the college for winning lots of achievements so far.
The college has been conferred autonomous status recently and the college is implementing the autonomous system from the current academic year i.e. 2016-17. The college also bagged ‘A’ grade by NAAC in the year 2015. The college is well known in the region for its standards in academics and placements.
