<p>Kaushalendra Kumar, a graduate topper from IIM-Ahmedabad could have landed into a high paying corporate job. But Kumar had fixed another plans for himself. Brought up in a farmer family, he wanted to use the power of education to bring a positive change to the lives of farmers in his state, Bihar.
Kumar inculcated his agri-business theoretical studies into the business of selling vegetables. To know about the customer's insights and expectations, Kumar carried his own cart through the streets of Patna.
Kaushalendra Kumar's Venture Samriddhi acts as a supply chain for bringing in fresh vegetables from the farm directly to the shopping markets.
His creative idea about this venture is to ensure that farmers get the true price of their yield and the consumers get fresh vegetables at reasonable prices. Also, this venture has given direct employment to over 300 people mostly in the state.
On being asked if he wanted to do something on his own someday and what inspired him to change his track, Kumar replied subtly, “ Being a farmer's son, I thought I have been given a chance of good education which most farmer's children do not get.” “I wanted to do something for our society and kids since nobody cares for them in particular,” he further added.
