SRFTI, Kolkata is in Hot Water with CAG
CAG said in parliament that SRFTI lost Rs. 1.84 crores.
The CAG which is Comptroller and Auditor General last week presented a report to Parliament in which it stated that the undergraduate program at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute is a fail. The institute was established 20 years ago and is aided by I&B Ministry.

The report mentioned that the autonomous institute has planned the sessions very poorly and has lost Rs. 1,84,00,000. The auditor said that the reason behind the loss of this much fund is poor management and skipping batches. The auditor also said that the institute is not conducting any sort of research in the area of movies or television.
In the academic year 2010 and 2014, the batch was not active and classes were not conducted as the institute wanted to revamp the syllabus and pattern. The students were devoid of chances to learn the art of filmmaking and everything related to it.

- Direction and Screenplay Writing
