Tamil Nadu School Holiday on 23 October 2025 has been announced in districts where heavy rains are occurring. IMD has placed certain districts of Tamil Nadu under 'Red Alert', and school leave can be expected in these districts.
Tamil Nadu School Holiday 23 October 2025:The Indian Meteorological Department has declared certain districts of Tamil Nadu, namely Tiruchirapalli, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Puducherry, Ramanathapuram etc, under Red Alert. Heavy rains have been occurring in various parts of Tamil Nadu. Due to harsh weather conditions and flood-like situations,school holiday was declared onOctober 22. As the heavy rain conditions are likely to prevail on October 23, school holiday is being announced. The collectors of respective districts shall take a decision on the school holiday after assessing the rain conditions during the early hours of October 23. Students can keep track of the latest updates on Tamil Nadu School Holiday on 23 October 2025.Tamil Nadu Government issued SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for schoolsdue to heavy rain conditions. Minister Anbil Mahesh clearly indicated that District Collectors will take the final decision on school holiday.
