Schools have been asked to shut down because of this reason, and the safety of school children is the topmost priority. Chennai had back-to-back school holidays on December 2 and 3. There was a school holiday on November 29 as well. The continuous rains in Tamil Nadu are disrupting the academic activities and the preparation of students for the upcoming board exams. While this school holiday due to rains in Tamil Nadu is becoming common every year in October, November and December, the government should look for an alternative, like conducting online classes, but students of government schools might not have such infrastructure and facilities.
