UP Board Exams 2020: UP Forms Committee to Make System Foolproof

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma informed that the government has constituted an expert committee on exams to make the entire system foolproof. The three-member committee will have to submit a report within a month.

The committee will give suggestions and ways to modernise the paper setting and evaluation process to maintain the sanctity of UP Board exams 2020. The members of the committee include Deputy Director IIT Kanpur Manindra Agrawal, Vice-Chancellor AKTU Lucknow Vinay Kumar Pathak and Vice-Chancellor Siddharth Vishwavidyalay Surendra Dubey.

The committee will also give suggestions regarding the ways to secure digital evaluation and eliminate the scope of human error from the examination process and provide technical solutions for the same.

UP 2020 Board Centres will have a webcasting system and will help to monitor the ongoing board exams. The board's office in Allahabad will be in charge of the webcasting process. The UP board exam of class 10 and class 12 2020 will be monitored live from the board office and in case of malpractice, the officials in charge of the districts will be instructed to take an action against the same.

Sharma further said that the UP government intends to cut down the use of unfair means by students in the exams to improve the overall quality of education. In his conversation with a renowned news agency, he admitted that the use of unjust means has stopped, all thanks to the UP govt's efforts and that this has also led to an 18-20 percent increase in the number of students studying in government schools.

To curb cheating in exams, Adityanath government has taken a lot of steps, Sharma said.

He said that there have been so many cases of cheating in the past that students belonging to specific states were kept together at one exam center and stringent measures were initiated at these centers to check if students were using unfair means. Also, there was a strict check at the suspicious exam centers.

Sharma also mentioned that static magistrates will be posted at every examination center and all examination centers must be equipped with CCTV, have separate toilets for boys and girls and boundary walls. Aadhaar cards of students have also been linked with the registration at sensitive exam centers, however, not every center across the state has been linked to Aadhaar. A district-wise list of suspicious exam centers has also been prepared.

In the last one year, the government has opened 205 new schools, has appointed teachers and will open one Adarsh Vidyalaya (Model school) in every division of the state from the next academic year.
