VR Siddhartha Engineering College Celebrated Annual Sports day

The Physical education department of VR Siddhartha Engineering college celebrated 9^th Annual sports day in a grand manner on 31-March-2016. Mr.Rajaiah, college Vice-Chairman was the chief guest. The celebrations were conducted to felicitate the winners of sports competitions conducted by various Universities.

Addressing the students, Mr.Rajaian said that, “Spots are essential not only for physical development or fitness but also for the development of positive attitude, competitive spirit, and self-confidence”. He mentioned that the college has excellent sports facilities.

Y.Prasad, Director of Physical education department mentioned, “A total number of 500 students of various departments of college have won in sports competitions conducted in the academic year 2015-2016 by various Universities, state and national level competitions”.

The students were awarded medals by the college vice chairman and the students were congratulated by the college management and physical education department.

Following are the laurels won by the college in sports competitions;

• Table Tennis and Archery champion in South Zone Inter University Competitions.
• Junior National level champion in Fencing
• Champion of women athletics conducted by JNTU
• South zone Inter-University Basket Ball and Hockey champion
• Badminton champion at National level sports meets conducted by JNTU
• Champion of women’s national ball badminton competitions and much more.

The college management appreciated the Physical education department in its efforts for bringing laurels to the college. The students thanked the college management and physical education department for their continuous support and encouragement.

The celebrations were attended by College Principal, A.V Ratna Prasad, Dean of Students affairs, Dr.Panduranga Rao, print and electronic media.
